Hi Maritta,
That's a great question. pdfDocs can do metadata cleaning, however by default the function is disabled. You can enable it within the pdfDocs Organizer application by going to Settings -> Output Options -> Current Organizer, and then clicking on the PDF Properties section. Within there, check "Remove/Edit" on each PDF metadata property you wish to remove. You can also check the "Prompt on output operations" option if you wish to be asked to remove this metadata when sending or saving PDF documents from the Organizer. You can also go to Settings -> Output Options -> External Applications -> Email, and configure the same PDF Property settings for removal of PDF metadata when sending PDF documents via Outlook. Keep in mind that this doesn't clean metadata from MS Office documents, however you may configure pdfDocs to automatically convert these attachments to a cleand PDF when sending. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

As an update to this post, we've gotten a few questions about what other options are available for PDF creation. It is common knowledge that WorkShare is one of the main players in the document comparison and collaboration areas. But what may not be known is the secure PDF creation functions of WorkShare Professional. The PDF creation tool integrates with iManage very similarly to pdfDocs, and includes some advanced security options as well. For more on WorkShare Professional's features, you can visit: http://www.workshare.com/products/wsprofessional/wspro_features.aspx
